Wrangler RT S

The Goodyear wrangler RT S tire is produced for light pickups, SUVs, crossovers, and many new cars.  This tire is popular among some vehicle owners, but not others.  Although many of these tires are purchased as new replacement tires, wrangler RT S tires are mainly sold as Original Equipment.  This tire is marketed as a standard load, all season, highway tire.  It is designed for on and off road driving.

The manufacturer, Goodyear, lists the continuous tread lug design as beneficial to ensuring a comfortable, smooth ride and ensuring good on and off road traction.  The radial construction and flat tread profile are intended to encourage long tread wear and year round traction.  This tire is ranked for speeds up to 112 miles per hour.      

Consumer opinions about the wrangler RT S tire are fairly varied.  Some surveyed buyers said that they probably not buy the tires again, but others say the tires are great and they have enjoyed many “happy miles” on and off road. 

Unsatisfactory traction in rain or snow is the most common complaint stated by purchasers.  One buyer commented, “they are on the verge of dangerous in wet conditions”.  Another buyer said, “they are not a good tire in the rain and slip at a moderate rate of speed”.  Many people refer to a lack of traction and slipping on wet or snow covered roads.  However, other consumers state that they have had no problems with traction.  A consumer in South Dakota says he has “no problems” and drives in “severe winter weather”.  A skier from New Jersey remarks that his tires have “seen it all, and handled it all”.  The majority of people that use the wrangler RT S tires agree that the tires perform poorly in rainy conditions. 

These tires are rated in surveys of consumers, which can be found on the internet, through Amazon and other sites.  The results of one survey give the Wrangler RT S tire an overall rating of 3 out of 5 stars.  In the “Traction under wet conditions” category, the tire receives 2 out of 5 stars.  It earns 2 out of 5 stars for “Breaking under wet conditions”.  This tire receives a rating of 2 out of 5 stars in the “Traction in the snow category”, also.  Despite the low ratings in these categories, this all season tire did get one 5 star rating.  The tire received a 5 out of 5 star rating in the “Tread wear” category.
